Rev.-David-Deal2Q & A: What does Reverend Deal Say!

‘In the Bible the number six represents incompleteness’

Question: What is the meaning of the number “666?

Answer: In last week’s article we discussed the book of Revelation and the difficulties to interpret. The number ‘666’ is found only in Revelation. Revelation 13:11-18: “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth………Here is the wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is a number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six”.  Most people disagree about the symbols, allegories and visions in the book of Revelation.  Some preachers and Biblical interpreters say that the ‘beast’ refers to an evil ruler or government persecuting God’s faithful. Many believe that the ‘beast’ has been set lose and is running rampant today. But whether past, present or future no one really knows. Some have connected 666 to a famous person. In the Bible six usually represents incompleteness. Seven is represented as completeness. Read Revelation 13 chapter in its entirety. Get involve with a spiritual based Bible study group. Following God’s word is the most important thing one can do. King David says in Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path’.
