Week three predictions

By Byler E. Henry

My picks last week for the NFL were 10-6. Week 3 of the NFL is coming and it all starts Thursday Night. The Chiefs travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. This will be a good game, because this is a homecoming for Andy Reid. I pick the Eagles to win in a nail-biter. Both teams have improved from last season, the Eagles were 4-12 now they’re 1-1, the Chiefs were 2-14 now they’re 2-0. The Green Bay Packers take on the Bengals. Both teams are coming off week 2 wins; the Packers beat the Redskins while the Bengals beat the Steelers. I’m taking Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to beat Andy Dalton and the Bengals.

The Rams travel to the billion dollar playpen to take on the Cowboys. I think the Cowboys can bounce back from their loss and beat the Rams. The Chargers are set to battle the Titans. I’m rolling with the Titans in this one even though they lost last week to the Texans in overtime. Cleveland Browns travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings. I’m picking the Vikings to win this one. The Bucs travel to Foxborough to take on the Patriots. The Patriots still have weapons missing; Danny Amendola has torn muscles in his hip and may need surgery. It’s uncertain if Rob Gronkowski will play, he’s 50/50 to return. The last few weeks the Patriots slid by the Bills and the Jets; I think they should play Rob because they are in need of receiver weapons. Tom Brady will still be Tom; he’ll make the right read and put the ball where it needs to be, but I’m picking Tampa Bay to win on the road.

The Cardinals travel to the Superdome to play against the Saints. The Superdome is loud and it’s a tough place to play so I’m going with the Saints. The Redskins are preparing for a battle at home against the Lions. Detroit has a good defense while the Redskins have struggled. I pick Detroit to win on the road. Eli Manning and the Giants are on the road against Cam Newton and the Panthers. Both teams are 0-2 looking and for their first win of the season. I pick the Giants to win, I predict Eli will have a good game and turn things around. The Ravens are preparing to host the Texans in what will be a good game. Ed Reed may play Sunday, if he does how will the Baltimore fans greet him? He signed with the Texans as a free agent last offseason after he received his first Super Bowl Ring. I think this game may come down to defense; I’m going to pick the Texans to win in a close game.

The Falcons travel to Miami to play the Dolphins. The Dolphins defense have played well, I believe they can keep it up. I’m picking the Miami Dolphins in this one. Brent Grimes has played for the Falcons last season, so I’m sure he is looking forward to this one. Buffalo travels to New York in an AFC East Division game against the Jets. Both teams are starting rookie quarterbacks Geno Smith from West Virginia and E.J. Manuel from Florida State. I’m picking the Bills to win this one. The Indianapolis Colts travel to San Francisco for a game against the 49ers. I think the 49ers can rebound on offense and defense to win at home. The Jaguars travel to CenturyLink Field in Seattle to take on the Seahawks. Seattle is home of the 12th man and a tough place to play. I pick Seattle to easily win this one at home.

Sunday night football, Chicago Bears vs. Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bears are 2-0 and the Steelers are 0-2. Steelers have a tough home game after losing to the Bengals on the road. I pick Chicago to win this one on the road. The Raiders are preparing to take on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos for Monday Night Football. This is an AFC West division game that the Broncos will win easily at Mile High. Peyton Manning will have a great game along with their defense. These are my week 3 predictions for the NFL. But, like I always say anything can happen.
