       This week Broward County made it mandatory to wear a face mask in stores, gas stations, and while riding public transportation, etc. Anyone outside their home must wear something covering their mouth and nose.

       Since this is all happening, The New Mount Olive Baptist Church, Mount Olive Development Corporation, Alpha Kappa Alpha-Zeta Rho Omega Chapter, Feeding South Florida hosted a food drive for those in the community who were in need of additional community resources.

       Charlotte E. Ray was the first African American female lawyer in the United States. She graduated from Howard University School of Law in 1872. However, Howard University’s Law School discouraged women from enrolling and Ray was forced to apply under the name C.E. Ray to disguise her gender.

overnor Abbott unlawfully exceeded his constitutional authority by issuing an executive order that suspends the rights that individuals, who are presumed innocent have, while facing criminal prosecution, according to a new lawsuit filed by the ACLU of Texas, Texas Fair Defense Project, the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
