On April 13, former President Barack Obama launched his new Netflix series, “Our Great National Parks.” On April 6 the National Parks Conservation Association honoured three “advocates for inclusion in parks,” two of whom were Black, alongside a member of the Blackfeet nation. Suddenly it seems like Blacks and Parks are the rage.

    Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County celebrated its Bigs at a special BIG Thank You Breakfast that attracted more than 200 Bigs, Littles, guests and community leaders.  The event honored the nonprofit organization’s Bigs of the Year and all the Big mentors in attendance.

     For four days, I can’t recall seeing Covid 19 numbers.  For four days I didn’t hear much about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  For four days I didn’t hear about politics, crime or any of the usual headline-grabbing anomalies.  All the talk for that time was about Tiger Woods and his much-anticipated return to the Augusta National Golf Course to play in the PGA Tour’s first major, The Masters.
