    Hello Friend!

I wanted to keep you in the loop with my efforts in helping Hurricane Beryl victims   across the Caribbean. Recently, we convened a meeting with Caribbean Women elected officials in Broward. We discussed Broward County’s efforts to support our Caribbean neighbors affected by Hurricane Beryl. As a proud daughter of Jamaica,     I am committed to working with the Caribbean community to provide aid and assistance to those affected.

Broward County has a long history of participating in relief efforts and donation drives, and our employees have consistently shown generosity and compassion in times of need. We have organized a humanitarian aid campaign, allowing County employees to donate to relief efforts through payroll deduction. Cash donations are preferred, as they enable relief organizations to quickly purchase necessary supplies and services.

Port Everglades is also waiving tariff charges for ocean shipping lines transporting emergency and humanitarian relief supplies and services to impacted areas.

I want to express my gratitude to our foreign service representatives, humanitarian workers, and businesses working tirelessly to support the Caribbean community.

Let’s continue to work together to support our Caribbean community in this time of need. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

    Thank you,

    Hazelle P. Rogers

    Broward County Commissioner, District 9
