    FAMU Alumni Broward County Chapter Hosts Student Sendoff

    On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the FAMU Alumni Broward County Chapter held a celebratory event to bid farewell and extend well wishes to incoming students preparing to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU), one of the top HBCUs in the nation. The gathering took place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center’s Black Box Theater, located at 1409 NW 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

       During the event, scholarships were awarded to several deserving students from Broward County.

    The event featured a special guest, Miss FAMU, Kailyn Thompson, a Broward County graduate, who led a discussion on “Greek Life” and mingled with the attendees. The event had several special guests They spoke about several issues including  life on the hill, work/ social life ballance. Greek life and post graduate careers and on going mentorship.

       The event also included refreshments, door prizes, and giveaways.

    This heartwarming sendoff aimed to inspire and support the next generation of Rattlers as they embark on their academic journey at FAMU.
