TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida A&M University football legend Jacquay Nunnally, one of the most prolific receivers in NCAA history, has been selected for induction into the Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025, adding another prestigious honor to his illustrious career.
Nunnally, who dominated the gridiron for the Rattlers from 1997-2000, rewrote both FAMU and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record books during his spectacular four-year career. His impact was immediate and sustained, as he helped lead FAMU to four consecutive FCS Playoff appearances while setting numerous records that still stand today.
Nunnally’s career statistics place him among the greatest receivers in NCAA history. His 317 career receptions rank 6th all-time in NCAA history, while his 4,239 receiving yards place him 10th. He averaged 7.2 receptions and 96.3 yards per game throughout his career, ranking 14th and tied for 15th, respectively, in NCAA history.
As a freshman in 1997, Nunnally announced his arrival with an NCAA record 284 receiving yards against North Carolina A&T. This performance foreshadowed the dominance to come, as he went on to earn MEAC Rookie of the Year honors and his first of three All-American selections.
His 1998 campaign was particularly spectacular, as he led the entire NCAA with 8.5 catches per game while earning Black College Football Player of the Year honors. He would claim this prestigious award again in 2000, capping off a career that included four First Team All-MEAC selections.
