(RV) Florida Memorial University guard Kamesha Moore scored a season-high 33 points in the 86-71 victory over St. Thomas in the Battle of Miami Gardens at the FMU Wellness Center. The contest marks FMU’s 20th win of the season under first year head coach Kevin Herod as the Lions regain sole possession.

Moore was spectacular for the Lions, connecting on 7-of-9 from the charity stripe to go along with six rebounds, four steals and three assists while teammate Alyza Winston dropped 18 points, three steals and one rebound, including burying four 3-poiunters and going a perfect 4for-4 from the line.

The Lions’ bench once again allowed FMU to pull away late in the contest, outscoring the Bobcats’ bench 29 to 21.

Florida Memorial University returns to the court on Wednesday, February 19 as they host Keiser in the conference season finale. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.

FMU produced a total of four scorers in double figures, including senior Terrin Hamilton who finished with a team-high 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from downtown. He also grabbed three boards, dished out three assists and had two steals before fouling out of the contest. Meanwhile, teammates Mohamad Diallo and Felix Uadiale both finished with a double-double, with Diallo producing 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, one block and one steal while Uadiale generated 15 points, 12 boards and three steals.

Collectively, Florida Memorial University shot 53 percent from the field, converting on 33-of-62 shots.
