Command Master Chief (SWIAW Marshall E. Ford II born March 31, 1983, in the Republic of Panama, parents Faye Baker Ford and Marshall E. Ford, Sr., both parents serving overseas in the United States Army. He is the grandson of Bernice and Clifford Baker Sr, long time residents of the Dorsey Riverbend community for more than 60 years.
A native of Broward County, FL attended Castle Hill Elementary and Lauderhill Middle School before graduating from Boyd Anderson High School the Class of 2001. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December 2001 and completed Basic Recruit Training Command in Waukegan, Illinois.
His first duty assignment was aboard the USS Bataan (LDH 5), stationed in Norfolk Virginia. Over the next decades he served in multiple assignments thought Norfolk before reporting to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2013. During his tour in Cuba, he was recognized as Sailor of the year 2015. That same year he returned to Norfolk as an instructor and Leading Petty Officer at the Culinary Specialist “A” School.
In 2017, Ford advanced to Chief Petty Officer and reported to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he served until 2021. He then assumed duties as the Food Service Team Leader Assessor with Afloat Training Group. In 2024, he was selected for advancement to Command Master Chief and Training Facility Pacific, San Diego, CA. In December 2025 he will be reporting to U.S. Forces Central Command in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Ford is a dedicated scholar as well as a leader. He earned his Associate’s Degree in 2015, A Bachelor of Arts in 2018 and a Master Degree in Homeland Security, all from American Military University, graduating cum laude all while serving on active duty.
