THIS MAGIC MOMENT — Lillie Bailey and aunt, Kattye Adderly, (both cancer survivors) could not miss the chance to hear Magic Johnson speak recently at Holy Cross Hospital. They didn’t know that they would get a chance to speak with him, or that he would walk out into the audience and hug them both upon hearing the story of their health issues. Johnson answered questions about his personal battle and HIV/AIDS in general before taking photos with the audience. He cited exercise, a healthy diet and a strong support system as major keys in dealing with HIV/AIDS. Earvin “Magic” Johnson was in town as a special guest and HIV/AIDS Advocate as Simply Healthcare launched its Broward County HIV/AIDS Medicaid Specialty Plan; Clear Health Alliance. The event was hosted by the South Florida AIDS Network of Broward County and Holy Cross Hospital of Fort Lauderdale. Pictured here are: Lillie Bailey, Magic Johnson and Kattye Adderly.
