     “When I think about George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black people murdered by racial hatred, I could not help but think about my son, Ennis, who was also brutally murdered,” stated Cosby, who is serving a three-to-ten-year prison term after his 2018 conviction on charges of indecent aggravated assault. 

Motlow State College, the fastest growing college in Tennessee, has worked with leaders from both companies for the past year to develop a curriculum for the Nearest Green School of Distilling. The STEM based and employable skills focused program has passed Motlow State requirements and is now awaiting approval from the Tennessee Board of Regents to begin moving toward accreditation by the institutions accrediting body SACSCOC. The certificate program may be offered as early as Fall 2021.

Today, with the anticipated opening of the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), Black Music Month has officially found a new home in Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. Music lovers from around the world can celebrate along with NMAAM as the museum executes digital programming all month highlighting Black musicians, including profiles of artists who are also LGBTQ, with the appropriately named campaign ‘Black & Proud’ celebrated in conjunction with Pride month.”

Only a few weeks after announcing her campaign for Florida House District 95 with a long list of supporters, Jasmen Rogers-Shaw announced today an endorsement by Nikki Fried, Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. 

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), ACLU of Florida and the Disability Rights Florida filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals being held in dangerous conditions in Broward County Jail that threaten to speed the spread of the coronavirus among prisoners and staff. The lawsuit demands that the Sheriff’s Office immediately release medically vulnerable prisoners to home confinement or under other conditions so that their already heightened odds of contracting the virus and falling deathly ill are not exacerbated.

 The Supervisor of Election, as defined by Florida statutes, is the custodian of all election documents and records, from voter registration to candidate filings and election results. So, you can imagine my surprise when a senior election office official acknowledged that while they maintain custody of the Microsoft SQL Server database where all votes are recorded, no one in the office can log into the database or query its data.

     Allow me to be the one to tell you a secret, to share something with you that most of these men in here won’t even allow themselves to say out loud, where men in prison began to understand the reality of what the Corona virus was, the dynamics and method by which it unleashed death and the circumstances that accelerated the speed at which it could spread.

In a CNN interview, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar attributed the high coronavirus death rate to unhealthy African Americans. Azar claimed that Black and minority communities have higher comorbidities like underlying health issue.  “Unfortunately, the American population is very diverse,” Azar stated.

   You cannot complain about the president if you don’t vote. That is why voting is essential. Moreover, talking about being oppressed and talking about doing things is not going to change the situation. We have to take action.

We all have a voice – every race, ethnicity, age. Africans Americans are now fed up and we want our voice to be heard.
