The Miami Dolphins today hosted more than 800 local youth and high school coaches at their fourth annual Coaches Clinic presented by Nike and supported by Ephesus Sports Lighting and Gatorade at Hard Rock Stadium. Coaches from Charleston Southern University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Miami and St. Thomas University taught 33 different classroom and on-field sessions focused on game and practice techniques, motivational tools and core football competencies.

     Thanks to the generosity of many of you, the World AIDS Museum (www.worldaidsmuseum.org) succeeded in its fundraising efforts through participation in the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival. 

Schumer noted that African American gains under the health care legislation, commonly known as Obamacare, are threatened by Trump and Attorney General William Barr as the Justice Department has argued in federal court that the law is unconstitutional and should be struck down – “Not just vital insurance reforms like protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions, as they had first argued last year,” Schumer said.

The main event playfully named “The Greatest Show on Dirt” – is the rodeo itself. Thousands of spectators gather to watch Black cowboys and cowgirls compete in eight major rodeo events. Among them (abbreviations intact): Bare Back Ridin’, Bull Doggin’, Calf Ropin’, Steer Undercoration’ , Barrel Racin’, Kid’s Calf Scramblin’, Relay Racin’, and Bull Ridin’. “Nobody ever leaves disappointed,” she said.

Some of the violations that have been reported include closed polling places, new limitations on voter registration and removal of names from voter lists. The Supreme Court’s 2013 decision in Shelby County v. Holder invalidated key provisions of the Voting Rights Act while acknowledging the persistence of voter discrimination. Following the Court’s decision, which, as a practical matter, eliminated preclearance requirements under the Voting Rights Act, hundreds of voting rights violations have been reported.
