       After over 7 years of fighting in Broward County, Florida courts, a jury deliberated more than four hours Monday, March 17th, and returned a verdict of fraud by Sator Investments, LLC, and conspiracy to commit fraud by Kevin Eutsey and Sator Investments, LLC. In addition, the jury cancelled the Elks Lodge deed held by Sator and Eutsey and quieted the deed, which returned the entire property at 712 N.W. 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale back to the Elks Lodge 652 of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order Elks of the World, Inc. I.B.P.C.E.W.

       Thompson had served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, alternating between the branches of legislature.  Upon her passing on Feb. 13, she was currently a member of the Florida Senate following a 21-point victory in her re-election bid.

       The community push to keep the school open failed to persuade the board, which approved the proposal during its Jan. 22 meeting. As part of a wider, long gestating and contentious plan for the county’s schools, kindergarten through fifth grades will shutter at Broward Estates Elementary, a school with a large majority of Black students, and be repurposed as an early learning center instead.
