No one is above the law. Except, it seems, for presidents like Donald Trump. In a landmark decision on Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority granted former President Trump broad immunity from prosecution for certain official acts, while denying it for private acts. This 6-3 ruling, with the court’s liberal justices dissenting, basically alters the balance of power and accountability in American authority.

The evening began with students taking center stage, showcasing their accomplishments and entertaining the audience.
