    When preparing for college, it’s essential to take certain precautions to ensure your safety and the security of your belongings. Always lock away valuable items Consider using a code or key pass to secure them. It’s better to be safe than sorry, as you can never predict when something might go wrong.

    Discuss with your roommate the importance of locking your dormitory doors when leaving for class or to hang out. Establishing a mutual understanding about security measures is crucial, especially since visitation policies and adherence to rules can vary.

         Regardless of whether your school is a private or public institution, challenges will arise. However, your campus public safety team is there to assist you. Familiarize yourself with your campus public safety team and get to know them so that you feel comfortable and secure on campus.

    Ensure your student email notifications are active and audible. Staying informed about potential threats, weather alerts, or alarming codes, is vital. Pay attention to public safety alerts and follow their instructions to maintain your safety.
