he Florida Senate on Tuesday passed a plan that would bar doctors and other health-care providers from offering treatments such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy to transgender minors.

The Florida House could be poised to take up a bill that seeks to prevent transgender men and women from using bathrooms that don’t line up with their sex assigned at birth, after one Republican said Monday it’s “like we have mutants living among us on planet Earth.”

      Since its inception in July 1982, Central Florida Black Nurses Association of Orlando (CFBNA) has remained at the forefront advocating for more inclusive and accessible healthcare for minority residents and promoting the professional growth and development of its members.  The association’s primary focal areas have been Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties.  Some of its activities have included teaching health education classes, participating in local health fairs, educating community health workers, mentoring nursing students, offering continuing education hours, conducting a mini nurse academy, and awarding nursing scholarships.

The LGBTQ+ Social Justice & Equity Funders Collaborative, a unique collaboration between The Our Fund Foundation and the Community Foundation of Broward, granted eight non-profit organizations a total of $250,000 in support of innovative initiatives supporting social equity and the civil liberties of LGBTQ+ residents of Broward County.
