     I must preface this article by saying this behavior of White Fragility, and Karenism is a proponent of White privilege. Its infiltrations into our democracy is causing an erosion to what is being put into place to offer some form of equality to people like me, who want what’s right and are willing to fight for it.

     The Super has 90 days to respond to some pressing issues and it is uncertain that she has what it takes to get it done. The  sand tunnels are filled with rumors that she has hired an Image Coach to work with her on her public perception. And while she was not very interested in engaging with the community, Instagram and Linkedin tell a story of her joining community boards like Career Source Broward to rally support. If you noticed, most of her community support came from businesses from her old school district in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, where she was ousted after principals launched a no confidence vote.

South Korean authorities were investigating the crowd surge that killed at least 154 partygoers in Seoul on Sunday, as the nation grappled with one of its worst-ever disasters. At least 26 foreign nationals, including two Americans, were killed.

     Justin Ricketts, a 17-year-old student from Riviera Beach, Florida, recently achieved a perfect 1600 score on the SAT. He has been accepted to several prestigious universities as well.

     Urged on by the Florida Department of Children & Families, a circuit court judge has ruled that 9-months old Ector — by birthright an American citizen — should be sent to Haiti to be with his maternal grandmother, who lives in a mountainous region and has no steady income. The Florida foster family that has raised him since he was a week old fears for his safety in a country torn by kidnapping gangs and catastrophic hunger and wants to adopt him. They are suing to keep him here in their care.

     This weekend, my faith in voters and their willingness to vote was revitalized upon meeting two elderly women affectionally called Ms. Pat and Ms. Jean. They both lived in the Lake Forrest community in West Park Florida. We met them while volunteering in their community distributing door hangers containing non-partisan important voter information and notices of a new Early Voting location in their neighborhood. 

     Had Obama, as the forty-fourth president, behaved exactly as Trump, there would have been demand for his indictment. Neither political party would have focused on his state of mind or intent. Rather, the thought more likely would’ve been, “How dare he, as a Black man, have the audacity to attack our government?” Instead of lock him up, the calls by conservatives would’ve been, “let’s lynch him!” That ungrateful son- of- a – birther!”

     Unmotivated and discouraged are two words one could use to describe the feelings of U.S students regarding this year’s midterm election. Many students, especially upperclassmen, are currently in a period of intense focus, attempting to finish up strongly in the classroom as the fall semester concludes. With grades being their highest priority, a great number of students simply feel as if they don’t have the time to commit to researching and educating themselves about the candidates running, or the policies they bring along. For other students, uncertainty and a lack of voting experience are the main deterring factors.

         We are a few days away from one of the biggest elections in our community and country.   After the election of President Barack Obama in 2008, low turnout and apathy led to many candidates losing the 2010 midterm elections which ushered in and legitimized 12 years of grievance politics and radical hate.  

     Intimidation should not be allowed at any poll locations, but it is happening right now across the country. Many election chiefs have left their jobs because of threats and harassment. On October 28th the Department of Homeland Security warned MAGA Republicans could attack election officials to prevent votes from being counted or certified.
