BCT encourages residents to try public transit as they journey to exciting events this fall
By Jose Paz and Traci Pollock, BCT

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — Broward County Transit (BCT) recently launched a campaign to encourage more residents and visitors to use public transportation as they travel to events and other exciting destinations this fall. The Just Try It campaign focuses on motivating non-riders, particularly eventgoers, to just try transit and use BCT to get to their favorite concerts, festivals, and community events.

“There is a lot to do in Broward County and people depend heavily on their vehicles to get there,” BCT CEO/General Manager Coree Cuff Lonergan explained. “In recognizing that reality, Broward County is preparing for a transformative transportation future to provide intermodal transit options to its residents. As it continues to advance in this direction, the Just Try It campaign will introduce more people to the benefits of the BCT system and help them discover how public transportation can easily become a part their journey to experiences that resonate the most with them.”

Cuff Lonergan went on to explain that by positioning BCT as the journey to what excites a growing share of new passengers, eventgoers will begin to view the transit system as more than just a bus ride, but the experience that connects them to their passions.

Whether that passion is music in the park or an exciting sporting event, BCT can take eventgoers to where they want to go. In doing so, the Just Try It campaign will demonstrate to first timers an easy, affordable and hassle-free alternative to traffic congestion, long wait times, and high event parking fees.

BCT transports tens of thousands of passengers daily. It operates 36 fixed bus routes across Broward County, offering seven-day-a-week service to major event hubs. Passengers can plan their trips, access real-time bus tracking, obtain route updates, view schedules and more by visiting Broward.org/BCT or contacting customer service at (954) 357-8400.
