FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (March 11, 2021) – It won’t be just another day in paradise when Broward Education Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Escape to Tropical Paradise presented by BrightStar Credit Union, returns on Friday, May 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Harbor Beach Marriott, 3030 Holiday Drive in Fort Lauderdale.

After cancelling last year’s event due to the pandemic, Broward Education Foundation reimagined the annual themed fundraiser by following guidelines and adhering to safety protocols from the CDC, Florida Department of Health, and local and state government officials. Guests will don their best resort wear and enjoy a socially distanced night in a tropical paradise, beginning with an outdoor, oceanfront cocktail reception, followed by a delicious dinner, online auction with extraordinary items, dancing and live entertainment.

Proceeds benefit Broward Education Foundation’s trans-formational programs and initiatives for students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. Programs include innovative teaching grants to advance Pre K-12 achievement; educational materials for Title I schoolteachers and students; and scholarships for qualified high school seniors. Each year, the Foundation contributes more than $3 million to Broward County schools, serving as the catalyst for educational excellence.

“It’s been a challenging year to say the least, particularly for our students, teachers and parents. This is our opportunity to make a substantial impact on them moving forward, with the funds raised through this event,” said Shea Ciriago, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “There are so many ways to get involved — become a sponsor, buy tickets and participate in the online auction. We can all use a fun, socially distanced escape after the year we’ve experienced.”

Tickets are $250 per person and sponsorships start at $1,500. For more information, email Shea.Ciriago@browardschools.com, call (954) 224-5080 or visit escapetotropical paradise.com.
