     Six University of Florida students at two colleges have been arrested on multiple charges for protesting Florida’s draconian laws that are the tip of rising fascism in the United States . The arrests, in a few days of each other, were made first at University of South Florida at the university’s administration building where President Rhea Law’s office is located.  Placards were carried and demands on flyers that called on Governor Ron DeSantis to stop his repressive regime news and encouragement he is spreading nationwide.

Dorsey Miller IV, Pompano Beach High School Senior, recently got the opportunity of a lifetime when he was accepted into the Disney Dreamers Academy, a four-day program in which high schoolers make professional connections that will change their futures for the better.

These discipline consequences could involve attending the PROMISE Program which now serves as a diversion program.  Traceit has learned that unlike when PROMISE was first introduced into the District, students who committed minor misdemeanor offenses were able to go to PROMISE and avoid the stigma of arrest or being entered into the judicial system.

Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend Erica Herman has asked a judge to overturn a non-disclosure agreement she signed when the couple started dating in 2017, citing a recent law that limits the ability to enforce such agreements in sexual harassment and assault cases.

  Brian Beasley, a 55- year old native of Fort Lauderdale,  attended school in the Broward County School system, graduating from Dillard High School in 1985. He started fishing at the age of seven when his mom and dad would take  my brothers and me fishing on Alligator Alley for pan fish. As the years went by, he developed a passion for fishing. 

Spring Break Theater Camp 2023 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts returns for five days of singing, dancing, acting and performances at the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center this spring break, March 20-24.

     It’s a cold, cloudy day at Manatee Lagoon, FPL’s Eco-Discovery Center, and the place is buzzing with visitors. Families and tourists stop by hoping to spot a manatee swimming in the surrounding waters, but some visitors might be surprised to learn that on the building’s second floor, 30 South Florida teachers are building robots.

     This statue is called “Through His Eyes.”  It is a monument to the godfather of Sweet Auburn avenue, John Wesley Dobbs. The artist cleverly opted to leave the eyes open in the statue.  A sly acknowledgement of Dobb’s vision for “Sweet Auburn.” Auburn became the incubator for the civil rights era, and the commercial, cultural, spiritual center of Black Atlanta.

With backing from Speaker Paul Renner, a House panel on Monday approved a bill that would lower the minimum age from 21 to 18 to buy rifles and other long guns in Florida.
