This year’s 29th Annual Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center Thanksgiving Basket Brigade Presented by Amazon took place on Sunday, November 21. Dedicated volunteers and community and business leaders personally delivered “Thanksgiving Baskets,” complete with a frozen turkey and all the traditional fixings, to 1,200 pre-registered CDTC families in Broward County who are currently caring for a child with special healthcare needs.

The Iota Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Miami-Dade County Chapter of the March of Dimes host a Premature Birth Awareness workshop for the students of Dorothy M. Wallace Cope Center. Sponsors of the program included Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Community Health of South Florida, Inc. and Mu Gamma Zeta and Beta Tau Zeta Alumnae Chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
The evening will open with an extraordinary “Behind the Music” story incorporating a reenactment of the dramatic struggle faced by composer George Fredric Handel as he toiled to complete this holiday masterpiece. Regally costumed actors narrating meaningful work passages will truly add another enchanting dimension to the concert experience!
