     “I wanted to tell the story of where we came from and used Obama’s election as the 360 point.” He explained. “I wanted to start from the first human in Africa, to the election of Obama. The spirit told me to write this, not as a profitable thing, but something for the Black community.”

     The State of New York alleges that the organization, its vice-president Wayne LaPierre, former CFO Wilson Phillips, former Chief of Staff and Executive Director of General Operations Joshua Powell, and Corporate Secretary and General Counsel John Frazer failed to manage the NRA’s funds and failed to follow numerous state and federal laws, contributing to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years for the NRA.

On August 9, 2020, a parade of voters and local candidates rode from the New Mount Olive Baptist Church to the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) to encourage the community to vote early. Some people held signs while others handed out campaign flyers. It was cool to see so many people excited about voting.

 I have never run for political office, but I’ve been intimately involved with enough campaigns over the years to know how chaotic and mind-numbing of an experience it can be. I have no doubt those experiences pale in comparison to what candidates and staffers must be going through currently, as Florida prepares to conduct two critical elections within ninety days.
