Two young quarterbacks battled it out Sunday in a shootout; Dolphins come out on top 34 to 31. In his second start Tua looked good completing 20 of 28 passes for 248 yards and two touch-downs, while rushing for 35 yards. Little by little, Tua will be getting better with each snap and getting comfortable making the right throws. It seems as if he is  improving each week. He offers his thoughts on Sunday’s performance, “I would say it was a lot better than the Rams game. We’re going to enjoy it and come in Monday and watch film with one another,” he says. “We’ll see what we can learn from and continue to work.” Even though Cardinal’s defense was able to get 3 sacks, Tua was still able to make key throws. This road game was a test for him, and he did well enough to pass.

Legendary high school football coach Nathaniel “Traz” Powell was one of the great African American sports pioneers in Miami’s history. Born and raised in Miami’s Overtown section, Powell was a standout athlete at Booker T. Washington High School in the early 1940s. He went on to attend Florida A&M and was a 2-time Black College All American end. On December 6, 1947, Powell along with his Florida A&M teammates made history when they became the first black athletes to play in the Orange Bowl Stadium as part of the 1947 Orange Blossom Classic against Hampton Institute of Virginia. Powell scored the game’s only touchdown making him the first African American to score at the Orange Bowl.

Dolphins have decided to start their young rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Miami drafted him from Alabama with their 5th overall pick in the first round. His first start was a little rocky starting off with a fumble on his first drive. After that fumble, Tua did not turn the ball over. The defense carried the team having an exceptional game and Jakeem Grant added a punt return for a touchdown. Miami managed to win 28 to 17. They now are currently in second place in the AFC East at 4-3

WNBA star Candace Parker is on a mission to change the narrative surrounding gender disparities in sports ownership and she’s empowering her daughter to follow suit. According to CBS Sports, the Los Angeles Sparks player and her 11-year-old daughter Lailaa Nicole Williams recently became part-owners of the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City team.

Fresh off a win last week, Miami was able to shut out the rival Jets on Sunday. From the opening kickoff until the end of game, the Jets could not put any points on the board. They are still on a losing streak this season; they are currently 0-6.

After a tough loss against the Seahawks the Dolphins came back to win a road game against the 49ers. From the first until the fourth quarter Dolphins held the lead and never looked back. The final score was 43 to 17.

And now Joe Morgan. I have nothing but love for all these great players. But this one really hurts. The speedy Hall of Famer and two-time NL MVP is one of my favorite players of all time. Without Joe Morgan, there would be no Big Red Machine.

On the flip side Russell Wilson had an excellent game passing for 360 yards going 24 of 34 with 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. The Dolphins defense helped to keep the game close, while the offense couldn’t score in the red zone. They were only down 17 to 9 at halftime; however, the Seahawks are too good of a team to not be able to convert in the red zone

A proven truism over the last two seasons is that we are clearly in the age of Black quarterbacks. The remarkable advancement of Blacks to master the game’s most important position proves those who thought they lacked the leadership skills and intelligence are wrong. Clear evidence with 10 Black quarterbacks starting the first week of the 2020 NFL season reiterates that the new normal is that Black Quarterbacks Matter.

Dolphins again came up short in their home rivalry game against Buffalo. Although their effort was better in this game, they still have some things to clean up before their next game. This game was a lot closer than last week, only losing by 3 points, 31 to 28. It began to rain in the first quarter which was symbolic of Buffalo raining on the Dolphins parade.
