On December 16, 2023, the brothers of ETA NU Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. partnered with the Women of Veterans Affairs and distributed toys to children for Christmas. This marked the fourth year that we have partnered with WOVA to give much needed children toys for Christmas. On December 13, six brothers shopped for toys days before to ensure the event’s success while bringing joy and happiness to the recipients. In addition, fourteen brothers personally committed time individually to shop and donate toys for the event. In concert, we were able to purchase 1200 toys and games for the event. Brother Tommy Robinson donated 300 toys for the TOT event and on December 14, Brother Exzabrion Barton, along with Wayne Barton of the Wayne Barton Foundation, shopped and donated Twenty-one (21) bicycles for the event.
On the day of the event, we experienced thunderstorms, but we still had thirteen (13) brothers who came out and participated in our event, the brothers handed out toys, games and gifts. In attendance for the event were 60 children who received gifts. The children’s excitement at seeing the myriad gifts was apparent in their facial expressions and joyful exuberance based on the amount of visible gifts provided. The event was a huge success for everyone. Follow the chapter on IG @etanuques1969
