The Delta Education and Life Development Foundation, Inc. (DELDF)  in partnership with the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is making waves in the Broward County community after securing $60,000 in grant funding to expand its mentorship programs for at-risk youth. The funding is a significant boost for the organization, which has been working tirelessly to provide mentorship, leadership development, and academic enrichment opportunities for young girls and boys throughout Broward County. The grant will directly support the foundation’s ongoing efforts to uplift children facing economic and social challenges. Targeting students from elementary to high school, the programs foster personal growth, academic excellence, and positive self-identity.

The foundation offers specialized programs for both boys and girls. The **Delta Violets program** serves elementary-aged girls, focusing on building confidence and early leadership skills. **Delta Academy** provides middle school girls with guidance in academic achievement and character development, while the **Delta GEMS program** empowers high school girls to set goals and prepare for post-secondary success. For young boys, the **EMBODI program** (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) serves middle and high school students, instilling leadership qualities and promoting healthy, productive futures.

“It’s a testament to the hard work we’ve put in to make a real difference in the lives of these young people. Our goal has always been to create a nurturing environment where they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With this additional funding, we can now reach more students and provide even greater resources and opportunities,” stated Cassandra Arterberry, Chair of DELDF. The organization has been a pillar in Broward County, continually building bridges between schools, community leaders, and businesses. Each year thousands of dollars in scholarships are given to the students in the Broward community.

“With the newly secured grant, the foundation plans to expand its mentoring capacity, provide additional field trips, and introduce new guest speakers to inspire students,” stated Dr. Jessika Timmons, Chair of Delta GEMS. As they continue to foster personal growth and academic achievement in at-risk youth, the Delta Education and Life Development Foundation is set to make a lasting impact for years to come. “We’re not just investing in programs—we’re investing in the future of our community,” added Roselyn Honyghan, Vice President of Program and Planning. “Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we’re committed to making that happen for our mentees,” remarked Damita Salters, President of the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  With this grant, the Delta Education and Life Development Foundation is not only scoring big but ensuring that the youth of Broward County are equipped with the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential.
