Fantasia fiasco forces ‘Jet’ to apologize

    From the St. Louis American

Last week Fantasia Barrino raised a stink after Jet Magazine chose to use a 10- year-old picture for her cover story.

Things went from bad to worse when Jet Editor-in-Chief Mitzi Miller posted a disparaging Facebook status on her personal Facebook page about Fantasia being illiterate, a status that was circulated online.

According to The Root, Miller was discussing the incident with  friends on Facebook when she remarked,

“The fact that I wasted an hour of my workday writing a press release to address an issue created by a person who cannot even read it is just… #whyiwannaBahousewife.”

After Miller’s remarks made the rounds online, a statement was issued to Madame Noir.

“I apologize for the lack of sensitivity shown in my Facebook post,” Miller said. “It was a thoughtless comment made during a moment of frustration. It was unprofessional and not representative of the Jet mission, which is to uplift. I regret letting my emotions get the best of me. I am truly apologetic.”
