Florida Memorial University is proud to unveil its new on-campus Barbershop and Salon, designed to give students a hands-on opportunity  to develop real-world skills while serving their campus community. This initiative embodies our commitment to helping students “Learn to Earn” – preparing them for both professional and personal success.

A special thank you to Mrs. Kimberly Chapman, FMU Board of Trustees member and CEO of Nairobi Hair Products and SHEEN Magazine, for generously serving as our official product sponsor.

All services are completely free for students — we simply encourage them to leave a reasonable tip to show appreciation for the student barbers and stylists. This helps teach the value of gratitude and respect for skilled V vice.

“Everyone who comes here will leave with a great haircut – and a smile. It’s all about creating a welcoming space for our students.”

This initiative is also a platform for mentorship. It offers FMU students who may be interested in pursuing a barber’s license – alongside their academic degrees – a chance to gain valuable experience.

Our vision is to build a tradition of leadership, service, and self-care right here on campus at our historic HBCU.
