Friends from childhood to manhood
Woodard and Williams played football in high school and college, which formed a relationship that grew from a friendship into a brotherhood.

Reverend Frederick Williams is a native of Plantation, Fla. and the second son of McKinley and Cynthia Williams. He is married to Melissa McCloud Williams and is the proud father of three children, Whitley, Frederick II and Gracelyn. Rev. Williams is a graduate of Nova High School in Broward County. Williams earned a four year scholarship to play football for Clark Atlanta University. While attending Clark he also excelled in academics, receiving numerous awards on and off the field. Williams was awarded All SIAC Honorable Mention (two years), Most Valuable Offensive Lineman (two years), Most Improved Player, National Dean’s List 1992-93, highest GPA in major, first recipient of the Raymond Hughes Memorial Award, Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year Award and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Rev. Williams began his professional career in 1993 as an educator with the Dublin City School System, where he was a physical education teacher and football coach for the Dublin Fighting Irish Football Team. Williams capped his coaching career in helping Roger Holmes and the 2002 Fighting Irish to reach the AAA State Championship Game.
He received the Masters of Education Degree from Troy University and a Doctoral Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Rev. Williams is the principal of Dublin Middle School and the District E president of the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals. Williams serves on the Board of Trustees at Fairview Park Hospital, Board of Directors of the Dublin Laurens Development Authority. Williams joined Greater New Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, youth director, tape ministry Director and Youth Pastor. Rev. Williams is currently the pastor-teacher of Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church and the president of the Dublin-Laurens and surrounding counties’ Baptist Ministers Union.
Quincy Woodard a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. attended Nova High School and continued his college education at Clark Atlanta University inspired by his mother and grandmother. Woodard is married to Ernestine and they have two sons, Caleb and Xavier. During his collegiate career, Quincy showed promise and enthusiasm both as a scholar and an athlete. He was a member of the 1991 SIAC Championship football team and co-captain of the team for three years. Williams played defensive end and defensive back, excelling in both positions and starting for four years. He was a member of the “Black Death Football Team” and a member of the 1991 SIAC Championship football team and co- captain for three years.
During his tenure he received several awards including Most Outstanding Freshman Player, Most Improved Football Player, Coaches Award, two-time Extra Point Club, All City Defensive team and All-SIAC Honorable Mention honors. He also received SIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in 1989 in a game against NCCU where he had 12 tackles, three sacks and an interception. His academic success was awarded with many awards including the Freshman Honor Roll, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, All- SIAC Academic Team and Dean’s List. Woodard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Management. Woodard is employed with Kraft Foods, where he has held several upper management positions, including Business Unit Manager and Plant Manager.
Woodard currently holds the position of Materials and Distribution manager in Davenport, Iowa. “My son and Quincy have shared a very close relationship since they were in middle school (Nova)”, stated Cynthia Williams.
The two were also awarded athletic scholarships to Clark University where their relationship grew from a friendship into a brotherhood, both even being co- captains of the football team at the same time, to this day they still remain in frequent contact even though they live in different states. Their children and families also stay in contact due to the bond that Williams and Woodard have established.
Cynthia Williams says, It’s just like Quincy is my very own son, the love and admiration that I have for him and his family.” Through the years, the growth from boys to men and all they have shared on and off the field, in and out of the classrooms, these two gentlemen also have the opportunity to share in the induction to the Hall of Fame.
