For the first time this season, an HBCU football team will wear jerseys with a sponsorship patch on the sleeves.

Alabama A&M University announced Friday the school has secured a $250,000 sponsorship by San Diego-based tech services firm Omni2Max.

The announcement featured a social media video with AAMU athletic director Dr. Paul Bryant and Omni2Max Business Development Manager ShaVonne Cammack, an Alabama A&M alumna.

“This is a historic moment for Alabama A&M University, our football program and HBCU athletics,” Bryant said. This agreement reflects the innovative direction of our athletics department and the tremendous value of the Alabama A&M brand. Omni2Max shares our commitment to excellence, leadership and creating opportunities, making the company an ideal partner for Bulldog Athletics.”

“Omni2Max is honored to make history alongside Alabama A&M University,” Omni2Max President and CEO Dr. Allen F. Maxwell added. “This partnership extends beyond the placement of our logo on a football jersey. It represents our investment in a distinguished institution, its student-athletes and the next generation of leaders. We are excited to support Bulldog Athletics and build a relationship that creates a lasting impact on the university and its community.”

The Bulldog football team will debut their new uniforms Saturday Aug. 29 against Howard in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge at CenterParc Stadium in Atlanta.
