India Arie – SongVersation

India Arie Simpson’s music is a spiritual, cultural and intellectual gift for humanity. Her latest CD, SongVersation, was released on June 25, 2013. SongVersation is a divine blessing which illuminates her inner intuition, the beauty of the soul and music as a healing art. Also, she explores the enlightening qualities of peace, love, prosperity and the divinity that can be found within each human being.
Next, SongVersation has a total of 16 tracks. With the song, Just Do You, she says, “Said its time to step into the light and use every bit of the power I have inside. If you create the game then you create the rules. And if you just be you. There’s no way you can lose.” Another beautiful song is Moved By You in which Arie extols the virtues of loyalty, joy, peace and reciprocal love. These two songs speak to the value of self-reliance and the transformative effects of unconditional love. Indeed, SongVersation is a remarkable CD.
Spiritually, in the song, I Am Light, Arie crystallizes the soul power within and it is solid gold. Again, she sings, “I am divinity defined. I am the God on the inside. I am a star, a piece of it all. I am light.” Some of the other songs include: Thy Will Be Done, Cocoa Butter, Brother’s Keeper, Flowers and One. In essence, SongVersation exemplifies India Arie’s monumental creative genius, spiritual awakening and cultural empowerment. Song after song accentuates great Black Rhythm and Blues(R&B), spiritual rejuvenation and global music.
Invariably, Arie does conscious soul music, R&B, Neo Soul and Folk music. She has done five albums. The other four albums are Acoustic Soul, 2001; Voyage to India, 2002; Vol. 1, Life & Relationship, 2006 and Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, 2009. Still further, her album Vol. 1, Life & Relationship in 2006 hit number one on the Billboard 200 Chart. While in 2002, Voyage to India debuted at number one on the R&B chart.
Moreover, as a business owner, India Arie has created a company called Soulbird. Soul-bird was founded to create “soul inspiring” art, music and media. Similarly, Soulbird is Miss Arie’s label imprint which has been expanded into a multi-faceted company. Additionally, the Soulbird company includes apparel, merchandise, jewelry, film, music, TV and book publishing.
In sum, SongVersation is a priceless CD in which Arie has given the gift of music to humanity through spiritually and culturally enriching songs. Her music has a positive message, a purpose and her songs elevate the mind.
