Crime in America is an epidemic because it’s so pervasive. People fear becoming victims everywhere. Parents fear their children becoming victims at school. All crime represents a scourge on society. The crime of murder and sedition are constant threats and difficult elements to control or prevent within civil society. Yet are crimes caused by a virus or results from an individual’s immoral idea?
Let’s take the position that crimes don’t result from people becoming infected by an air borne virus. But rather it begins as an immoral idea in the mind of an individual or individuals. An individual’s immoral idea doesn’t necessarily become a crime unless it’s executed. However, an uncovered planned plot to commit a crime can result in charges filed and an arrest of the perpetrator(s).
The recent January 6, 2021 insurrection offers an excellent opportunity to subject it to a hypothetical analysis. “Did the insurrection begin as an immoral idea in the mind of the former president or collectively with members of his Cabinet?’
The U.S. House Select Committee, formed primarily by party-line vote on July 1, 2021, is responsible for investigating the January 6, 2021 insurrection. A central objective of this Committee is to determine who’s responsible for planning, funding, and inciting this insurrection. Sadly, it’s recorded as another date of infamy.
America must now wait for the Committee’s final written report to learned who was responsible for the January 6, 2021 insurrection. What we do know is that this insurrection wasn’t caused by individuals infected by a virus, but by an individual ravaged with an immoral idea to overthrow the government. YOU
