MIAMI – Plans to build a Donald J. Trump Presidential Library in downtown Miami have been put on hold after a judge temporarily blocked the land transfer needed for the project.

According to the Associated Press, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Mavel Ruiz issued an injunction stopping the transfer of state-owned land from Florida to Miami Dade College, which had been approved earlier this month.

The lawsuit was filed by Dr. Marvin Dunn, a Florida International University professor emeritus, historian, and social justice advocate. Dunn argued that the transfer of the 2.63-acre parking lot next to the historic Freedom Tower on Biscayne Boulevard violates Florida law and the public trust.

The Miami Dade College Board of Trustees recently approved the transfer as part of plans to develop the proposed Trump Library, following the endorsement of Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet, who voted to gift the property for the project.

Following the court’s ruling, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced his intention to appeal the decision, setting up a legal battle over the future of the controversial site.

For now, the project remains in limbo as both sides prepare for the next round of court proceedings. If you would like to contact Mr. Marvin Dunn, Phone: (305) 919-1602, Email: dunnfiu@bellsouth.net
