Blanche Ely House Museum Hosts Intimate Performances by Talented Local Artists

Back by popular demand, the Living Room Concert Series returns with a roster of extraordinary artists. When Pompano Beach Arts first introduced the series last fall, audiences were enthralled by the unique experience. Now, a new season is launching, so do not miss this rare opportunity to enjoy outstanding musicians performing in an intimate and historic setting. The up-close and engaging performances are presented in the historic Blanche Ely House Museum, which is the restored former home of renowned educators Blanche and Joseph Ely, now a thriving venue showcasing the significant social and cultural milestones of Pompano Beach’s Northwest Community. The concerts will be presented on the fourth Thursday each month at 7 pm, and tickets are $10. For more information, visit www.pompanobeacharts.org.

The Living Room Concert Series is modeled after NPR’s acclaimed Tiny Desk Concerts, as both feature artists of various genres performing in an intimate setting.

Vocalist, songwriter, entertainer and actress, born and raised in New York City, Sabatino was exposed to many genres of music, from opera to the street music of the local 42nd Street performers. At home as a young girl, she was a relentless performer and singer, her repertoire everything from Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, and Ella Fitzgerald to Tona la Negra. Her Dominican roots were steadfast and her amazing capacity for rhythm and music served as evidence of her native upbringing. She has graced many stages around the world with her sultry voice. From Carnegie Hall in New York to stages in Europe, Sabatino has over 15 years of professional experience. She sang at the 37th Annual Grammy Awards in California and has performed a wide array of music including gospel, jazz, musical theatre, pop, R&B, Latin and much more. Her eclectic voice fits any style and can produce sounds which captivate all audiences. She attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and she tours headlining throughout South Florida and internationally.

Anthony has been writing and recording original music since age 12. He collaborated with Emilio Estefan and the new generation of Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers, on their Album One World, which received a Grammy nomination. Formed in 2015, Paul Anthony & The Reggae Souljahs have been rocking the South Florida music scene with their vibrant blend of reggae, dancehall, and top 40 hits. Led by charismatic frontman Anthony, this band brings infectious energy and soulful rhythms to every stage they grace. Their electrifying live shows have garnered a dedicated following as they effortlessly blend original compositions with popular hits, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all music enthusiasts. As the band continues to evolve and expand its musical horizons, it is poised to leave an indelible mark on the global reggae music landscape. With unwavering passion, infectious energy, and soulful performances, this band is a force to be reckoned with, spreading the joy of reggae music one beat at a time.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida to Honduran parents, Iglesias has a sound that reflects the diverse musical and cultural influences that have shaped her character and forged her individuality as an artist. With a style equally informed by rhythm & blues, boleros, gospel and hip-hop she delivers her performances with the intimacy of a deep soul crooner and the conviction and drive of a powerfully talented singer/songwriter. Iglesias was chosen to be the one of an eight-person choir/ensemble, Dolphins Voices, to sing the anthem at all Miami Dolphins home games. She also sang a duet with Sony Latin recording artist Franco de Vita, who has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. She was featured in his live DVD album, Primera Fila, which won two Latin Grammy Awards. She has performed with Wyclef Jean and has also been featured on Univision’s Mira Quien Baila, and has shared the stage with Latin artists Beatriz Luengo, Alejandra Guzmán and Gilberto Santa Rosa. Iglesias was also a contestant on NBC’s #1 Hit TV Show, The Voice, on which she made it to the top 16. She was originally on Adam Levine’s team but was later stolen by Shakira after her epic performance of “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World” which turned into a YouTube sensation.

The mission of the Cultural Affairs Department is to provide cultural programming that includes visual arts, digital media, music, film, theater, dance and public art for the enjoyment and enrichment of residents and visitors to Pompano Beach, Broward County, and the greater South Florida area. The department programs and manages the City’s premiere cultural arts venues, including the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, Ali Cultural Arts Center, Bailey Contemporary Arts Center, and the Blanche Ely House Museum. The department also oversees the City’s Public Art Program and the Artist in Residence (AiR) initiative.
