    January 3, 1939 – May 8, 2024

    Mrs. Hill was born on January 3, 1939, in Austin, Texas to James E. Mosby Jr. and Eva Marie Melancon -Mosby.

    Eva attended Holy Cross and Blackshear Elementary Schools, Anderson High School, graduated from Prairie View A & M University College, with a B.A degree in clothing and textiles, and a Master’s Degree in Education.

    Married to her high school sweetheart, James O. Hill Sr., Former Assistant City Manager of Fort Lauderdale, for 58 years, Eva and Jim together helped to make Broward County a beautiful and friendly place in which to visit, work and live while raising their three children Eva Hill-Taylor Ph.D., James O. Hill Jr., D.O. and Dudley J. Hill.

    Mrs. Hill, 85, served her community as an elementary school educator for 48 years in her native state of Texas, as well as New Jersey and Florida before retiring in 1999. Her devotion to the Catholic Church was exhibited most noticeably in her efforts to address the needs of the poor and disadvantaged people in the community and around the world.

    Tri-state educator, devout Catholic Christian and philanthropist, Eva Marie Mosby-Hill, passed on to glory on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

    The family will host services as noted below:
