FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The Old Dillard Foundation proudly hosted its annual Backyard BBQ Fest on May 2, 2025, transforming a beautiful spring evening into an unforgettable celebration of community, music, and southern hospitality. The event drew a lively crowd eager to enjoy a night filled with exceptional performances, delicious food, and camaraderie in a charming outdoor setting.

The evening featured captivating live performances from three of the Foundation’s esteemed Board members. Warren Hill kicked off the night and brought the crowd to its feet with his vibrant R&B tunes. Stan Brown delighted attendees with his lively Steel Drums, adding a tropical flair to the festivities. To close out the night, Randy Corinthian tantalized with his soulful jazz on the saxophone, setting an energetic tone that had guests swaying and clapping along.  Each performance kept the audience engaged, dancing under the stars and soaking in the warm spring air.

Food was a highlight of the evening, with Tasty Ts Catering serving up mouth watering BBQ ribs, wings, fried fish, and a variety of delectable side dishes that perfectly complemented the festive atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed the hearty and flavorful offerings, making the night not only a musical celebration but a culinary one as well.

One enthusiastic guest, Meredith McCleary summed up the event saying, “FRIDAY was awesome. I hope the Foundation will have more events like this, even if we have to pay to attend.” The positive feedback was echoed by many, who expressed love for the event’s lively community vibe, the excellent food, and the beautiful outdoor setting.

Looking ahead, the Old Dillard Foundation is excited to announce its next Backyard BBQ Fest, scheduled for September 27, 2025. This special edition will honor and celebrate the birthday of jazz legend Cannonball Adderley and mark the 31st anniversary of the Foundation’s impactful work in the community.

The Foundation invites everyone to mark their calendars for this upcoming celebration—promising another memorable night of great music, delicious food, and community spirit.
