The President of the United States Is Not A Normal Situation

There is something dangerous when the president of the United States is playing games with an enemy nation, “My nuclear button is bigger than yours,” says Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard. No one in their right mind should threaten another country with nuclear weapons, but our president has made a public statement to the country and world.

When the president of the United States wakes up in the morning, and without talking or consulting with any of his advisors, establishes a national policy with a tweet, this is a sign of a troubled and irrational mind. When hundreds of high level administrators are running from stable high paying government jobs in the Trumps ad-ministration, something is wrong.

When the high level administrators are retaining lawyers after only seven months working for Trump, something is wrong because many administrators are afraid they may end up in jail. This is unprecedented, and not a normal situation.

The Trump administration is dysfunctional, and the country is relieved that the United States didn’t face a crisis that required presidential leadership in 2017. Everyone in Trump’s inner circle has tried to hide and keep Trump’s behavior from the citizens of the United States and the world, but a forthcoming book from Michael Wolff exposes the truth about Trump, his family, and the White House insane-ness.

When the president calls Steve Ban-non, his campaign chairman and chief strategist as someone who has lost his mind, there is something wrong. At one time, Steve Bannon was the creator of the Trump doctrine, and when he left the White House in August, he was seen as a reliable outside ally of the Trump administration.

“Now he looks like a turncoat out for revenge, fitting the profile of an alluring witness for special counsel Robert Mueller in his probe of potential collusion by the Trump campaign with Russia. In Michael Wolff’s new book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” he tells a juicy story that no one knows what to believe, but it is already a best seller, and it is flying off the shelves. It tells the inside story of the Trump White House, describing dysfunctionality and infighting within the campaign, and the first year of his presidency, complete with damning criticism of Trump within his inner circle. The book is based on 200 interviews with White House and campaign staffers, including Bannon.

According to Paul Farhi of the Washington Post, “Wolff portrays Trump and his closest aides as astonished by his electoral victory in 2016, and wholly unprepared for office. Top advisers and allies doubted the president’s intelligence and openly mocked him. In on-the- record interview with Wolff, Bannon called a meeting between the Trump campaign top advisers and Russian representatives in mid-2016, treasonous and unpatriotic.

But Trump believes that he is doing a great job as president of the United States. The Republicans passed the tax reform bill, and the economy has grown more than 3% for a second consecutive quarter, and the stock market is breaking records.

Nevertheless, there is something wrong and dangerous in this administration, and nothing is normal. When the president makes decisions based on the information he gets from Fox News, something is wrong, and it is a reflection of his irrational judgment and erratic mind.

We were lucky as a country to get through 2017, but in 2018, Trump’s inability to educate, read, and take advice could cause a catastrophe of monumental proportions.
