Prince II Kings partners with FLPD Police Athleic League

The Fort Lauderdale Police Athletic League and Prince II Kings are hosting their 2nd Annual Literacy Contest. This competition is open to children ages seven to eighteen, in grades second through twelth. This competition is expected to challenge the applicants’ reading and writing skills.
There are a few requirements for interested applicants; must be able to provide proof that they reside or attend a school within Fort Lauderdale city limits, must select a book from the provided list, must be able to provide a essay depicting knowledge and understanding of their chosen book, and must be able to recite their essay to the panel judges.
All essays must be received by Oct. 18, 2013. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second, and third place winners.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Ahletic League and Prince II Kings event will be held at Cater Park on Saturday Oct. 26 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Carter Park is located at 1450 W. Sunrise Blvd. in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
