R&B’s Uncle Charlie will get up close and personal in Miami

Hosted by local Comedian Marvin Dixon

    By Tara Robertson

Charlotte, N.C. — On Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, Variety Entertainment Promotions will present an intimate concert featuring Charlie Wilson – one of R&B’s most distinguished voices, along with Miami’s own comedian Marvin Dixon.

Wilson, an R&B icon and former lead singer of the funkadelic brotherly trio, the GAP Band, was once dubbed “the defacto father of new jack swing.” Artists like Aaron Hall and R. Kelly have long paid homage to his vocal style.

“The dynamics of Wilson’s show contains both old school and new school sounds,” said Leo Bennett, CEO of Variety Entertainment Promotions. “Uncle Charlie gives one of the best performances ever.”

Dixon has been performing and hosting comedy since 1994. He has appeared on (HBO’s Def Comedy Jam), BET’s Comic View and most recently(“The Tom Joyner Skyy Show”. )

The special engagement will be performed at the James L. Knight Center, located at 400 S.E. Second Ave., Miami, Fla.

The show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through all Ticketmaster® locations and online, as well as the James L. Knight Center’s Box Office.

Ticket prices range from $45 to $85. All ticket prices exclude taxes and fees.
