The Rotary Club of West Palm Beach recently distributed $1,000 grants to principals of 14 West Palm Beach Elementary schools. The $14,000 grants were presented to the principals at a luncheon held in their honor at the Kravis Center’s Cohen Pavilion.

Fittingly, this was the 14th year that the Principal Grants Program gave grants to 14 elementary schools. These schools have high-need students and the grants have been used to provide these students with a plethora of items and services; i.e. academic incentives, eyeglasses, uniforms, and fulfilling emergency students’ needs.

The Rotary Club of West Palm Beach is a 93-year old community services organization. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self”. In keeping with that motto, the organization also gives the following services to our community:

     ·  Provides dictionaries and academic motivation to all third grade students in 14 West Palm Beach Elementary Schools at the beginning of each school year.

     ·  Presents bicycle academic incentives to two students at 14 West Palm Beach elementary schools.

     ·  Donates holiday baskets and toys for each child in the family to needy families in West Palm Beach.

  • Awards four-year scholarships to deserving high school students.

     ·  Sponsors a Rotaract Club for college students at Northwood University.

     ·  Established and sponsors the first Virtual Rotary Club for high school students in the country.
