Ryan Green named to the Under Armour All American Team

    By Phillip Haywood

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The accolades just keep on coming for Ryan Green. The St. Pete Catholic star running back has already verbally committed to FSU. Furthermore, he is one of the most sought after recruits around the country.  Recently Green accepted an invitation to play in the Under Armour All American game, which will be played in St. Petersburg on the first Friday in January of 2013. Green recently has been rehabbing from a torn labrum and is possibly thinking of a one game return.

Basically he is waiting for the okay from renowned surgeon Coco Eaton.

The American Family Insurance were the presenters of the invitation and they have toured the country visiting over 80 high school giving out invites for the prestigious game which invites the best high school players from around the country.  Green was not the only player from Pinellas County to accept the invite. St. Petersburg High’s Sean Covington, a kicker who has verbally committed to ULCA accepted his invite last week as well.

There has been a plethora of folks who have been instrumental in Green’s development such as Andre Hudson his personal trainer.  Hudson says, “Ryan has done it all with class. He represents in all areas of life.  He is a great kid and he appears to have a blueprint of success laid out.” Also his parents Vader and Lalita Green have made personal sacrifices of their own to see that their son’s talents were showcased by taking him to camps all over the country. Along with help Green has worked extremely hard to garner the type of attention that he has been getting.

Finally, Green said, “I have been watching the Under Armour All American game since I was in the 8th grade and I said to myself I would never be able to play in a game of that magnitude.”  When you are a humble young man like Ryan Green and work hard in the classroom and on the gridiron God makes those kinds of dreams come true.
