Special Olympics Florida-Miami Dade celebrates their athletes, coaches, volunteers and supporters

    By Yvette Harris

MIAMI-DADE, FL – The Special Olympics Florida Miami-Dade County confirmed today that 123 LumpSum has signed on as a title sponsor for their Sponsor An Athlete Awards Dinner that will be held at the prestigious La Gorce Country Club, Miami Beach on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by Miami Herald columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Berry. The VIP cocktail reception will be held from (7 to 8 p.m.), along with  silent/auction, sit down dinner, dancing and several guest entertainers for the night. Tickets are $350 and will pay for a full year of training and competitions for a Special Olympics Florida Miami-Dade athlete.

“We are very fortunate to have the support of 123 LumpSum,” said Linsey Harris Smith of Special Olympics Florida. “This dinner is an opportunity to honor our most inspirational and dedicated athletes, coaches, volunteers and supporters while raising awareness and money for our program. Support from organizations like 123 LumpSum means that financial boundaries are not a factor for any person with intellectual disabilities wishing to participate in year-round sports training and competition events; life changing opportunities like traveling and staying overnight at state competitions; attending Camp Shriver for six-weeks during the summer; an experiencing the joy of interacting with others through sports”.

“We are pleased to be supporters of Special Olympics Florida,” said Andrew Savysky, President of 123 LumpSum. “As an avid runner and father, it is such an honor to have the opportunity to be part of the Special Olympics. While our company is dedicated to participating in charitable causes, this one was particularly exciting for us. We look forward to witnessing the confidence by these athletes through our continued support.”

123 LumpSum and The Savysky Family have been  huge supporters of the Special Olympics Florida Miami-Dade County programming initiatives. They came on board for the Sponsor An Athlete 5K held in May in Pinecrest; KLA Cares, a fund drive developed by KLA Schools and Savysky Family to raise money for the Special Olympics Young Athlete Pro-gram.
