The City of Fort Lauderdale, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB), and Fort Lauderdale’s Midtown are gearing up for two great happenings in the City this summer.

Beginning July 29 through Aug. 4, 2012 the American Tennis Association (ATA) will host its 95th Annual Championships and Conference in Fort Lauderdale. The ATA is the oldest and largest African American Tennis Association in the United States and brings over 3000 visitors to Broward County, Fort Lauderdale along with a rich tennis history. Tennis greats such as Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson came up through the ranks of the ATA and burst on the national stage mystifying their competition and the world with their talent.

On Wednesday, Aug. 1,  as a mid-week slow down for the ATA, Midtown gears up for a hot night in the city chock full of art, culture and entertainment as a part of the ATA Conference.

The Midtown Summerfest on Historic Sistrunk Boulevard is guaranteed to bring the groove back to Fort Lauderdale! This inaugural event promises great music, food, art and more.

Join us for food trucks, a special kids zone, merchandise vendors and an adult party like no other! Historic Sistrunk Boulevard is back and better than ever. If you have not visited lately, pack a bag, jump, in your car and bring the family  for the 1st Annual Midtown Summerfest on Historic Sistrunk Bouelvard.
