Starr Shamp, a resilient African American mother from Omaha, Nebraska, has accomplished a remarkable milestone while battling stage 4 breast cancer—she earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University. Diagnosed just before her 28th birthday in 2018, Shamp has spent the last seven years balancing cancer treatments, marriage, motherhood, and academics.
