On June 28, 2025, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Zeta Rho Omega Chapter, in partnership with The AKAdemic Foundation, Incorporated, celebrated an extraordinary milestone, 70 years of unwavering service, sisterhood, and community impact. The sold-out anniversary gala, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida, welcomed members, civic leaders, and community supporters for an inspiring celebration.

       The Urban League of Broward County is hosting its signature fundraising event, the Red Gala, on September 21, 2024, at the Broward County Convention Center. This year’s Varsity U Red Gala, presented by FPL, promises an unforgettable evening of awards, live entertainment, dinner, and a silent auction.

The Coral Springs-based Phi Xi Zeta chapter joins thousands of chapters around the world celebrating the 100th anniversary of Zeta Phi Beta Incorporated, a women’s service organization founded on the principals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.  The chapter will celebrate the centennial at an awards luncheon recognizing an individual from the community for their leadership and service impacting education in Broward County.  Phi Xi Zeta chapter asks the public to submit nomination applications for the Community Leader of the Year Change Maker Awards by Friday, Jan.  31, 2020. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Rho Omega Chapter’s President Jeannie B. Floyd was informed that there were several chapter members whose families lost everything after the destruction of the Category 5 Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. This was the worst natural disaster to ever hit the Bahamas.
