The 2012 MEAC/SWAC Challenge presented by Disney

The eighth installment of the MEAC/SWAC Challenge presented by Disney will feature Alabama State of the SWAC versus Bethune-Cookman of the MEAC.
The annual HBCU matchup, which will be played on Sept. 2 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. marks the first time that one school (in this case, Bethune-Cookman) has appeared in back-to-back years.
The Wildcats outpaced Prairie View 63-14 last year. Alabama State, meanwhile, makes a long-awaited return to the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, having played in the event in 2005, when the event launched (losing 27-14 to South Carolina State). At stake, as usual, is conference supremacy; the MEAC has won five of the previous seven games.
