Trump as America’s 45th president clearly demonstrated that an unfit narcistic white man can become president. His qualifications at this time summarily included racists, xenophobia, and procurer of prostitutes. Trump launched the “Birtherism Movement,” and exploited racial tension to gain the presidency. Again, in pursuit of the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, his defining qualifications now include: convicted rapists, self-anointed dictator, insurrectionists, and indicted felon.
America’s democracy during Trump’s presidency divided farther racially, socially, economically, and politically. The government sank to a level of mediocrity and corruption such that it could’ve easily faced recognition as a syndicate or Mafia family. Trump broke all existing presidential norms as well as laws with little or no challenges from Congress. He broke the Emolument Clause (EC), to enrich himself as well as his family. He ruled as though the (EC) was his personal debit card.
Trump realized that as president, he could run the government, a foul of the law, just as he had run his personal empire. He surrounded himself with incompetent Cabinet members, corruptible staff members willing to relinquish their integrity just to be part of a powerful anti-democratic enterprise. Trump governed as though the government wasn’t of, for and by the people.
It didn’t take much cajoling by Trump to ignite the racism embedded within every aspect of America’s society. His slogan to “Make America Great Again (MAGA),” has more than a sliver of racism. It serves as a rallying call to white supremacists. They’re yearning for the return of Jim Crow laws, walls to deter immigrants, fugitive abortionists’ laws, and legislation to punish the LGBQT community.
As a racist and xenophobic igniter, Trump continually devises racial tactics and spews rhetoric to feed the racisms of his MAGA supporters. Remember, he separated immigrant children and babies from their mothers, labeled Mexicans as rapists and drug smugglers, claimed immigrants take jobs from vulnerable Americans, and proposed banning Muslims from entering the US.
It was reported by Jim Calvin,( Associated Press) that Trump recently used words to describe immigrants coming to this Country seeking refuge from violence and gang style murders as, “Its poisoning the blood of our country.” When told that Hitler previously used these same words to denigrate Jews, he pleaded ignorance to having no knowledge of Hitler’s use of these words. One could rightly conclude that he doesn’t know the definition of xenophobic or doesn’t care about the emotional pains it inflicts.
Trump revealed on the Billy Bush of Access Hollywood tapes his attitudes towards women. He proudly stated, ‘he could just grab women by the P-word.’ Since this incident, Trump has faced indictments for three hush money cases involving attempts to hide extramarital marital affairs. One of these women Stormy Daniels, allegedly, is a porn actor. Does this not allege, he procures prostitutes?
In the case of E. J Carroll, alleging Trump raped her, Judge Lewis A Kaplan ruled that, “Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.” This ruling certainly validates that Trump qualifications include rapist. The only remaining qualifications to highlight are: insurrectionist, dictator, and indicted felon.
CBS News reported to the Nation that Trump received indictments for four additional charges by a grand jury following Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6, 2023, investigation. Georgia district attorney, Fani Willis has also indicted Trump and eighteen other co-defendants on multiple criminal counts. Currently, they’re out on bail awaiting trial or accepting plea deals. Trump, instead, is using every legal appeal available to avoid facing a jury.
Former president Trump, again, seeks the 2024 Republican presidential nomination with a baggage of qualifications that rivals a Mafia Boss. Also, he’s defiantly announced once elected president he’ll become a one-day dictator. This statement alone allows the inclusion of “serial liar.”
Despite these deplorable qualifications, which could fill an empty basket, Trump remains the leading candidate for the right-wing staunch conservative dominated Republican Party’s 2024, presidential nomination. As the ole folks would say, “Trump’s one of them and them is Trump!”
Republican Congresspersons’ and MAGA voters’ “blind eye” to Trump’s despicable qualifications, represents an existential threat to America’s democracy. Maybe Trump’s followers will wake up or smell up and realize that Former GOP lawmaker Adam Kinzinger is correct. Trump is just an “odorous fart.”
