Educate yourself so you can investigate and learn the right person to vote for on election day, November 8, 2020. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used “big” words in his speeches and sermons, then everyday words behind them to help us learn a new vocabulary. He was teaching us, not coning us. Many politicians use “big” words as “double talk” to keep us from understanding what they are really saying.

For example, the everyday word for QUID PRO QUO is BRIBERY, I will only give you something, if you give me something. The everyday word for GERRYMANDERING is like drawing a school district that is divided 80% White and 20% Black. The everyday word for GENTRIFICATION is REDLINING. Banks draw a red line around a low-income neighborhood on a map and refuse to lend them any money for home repairs. The well-built homes deteriorate and lose market value as their taxes increase every year and eventually the homeowners sell at a very low price. The people with money come in and buy these houses at very low prices and a tax break. The banks remove the red lines and lend money to the new homeowners and they change the whole areas to middle and high class.

All reading is good. Reading fiction is entertaining but reading truth will help you choose the best candidate to represent you and your family. This is an excerpt from my book “What We Blacks Need To Do” by James Hankins
