What’s Your Story? Pompano Beach Community Exhibition of local history
The personal narratives of African-American History
Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA), in partnership with the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center of Broward County (AARLCC), announces its latest exhibit, showcasing personal narratives and magnificent photos of African American residents of Pompano Beach in the 1930s. The run dates for the exhibit are Feb. 16 – March 16, 2016. The free opening reception with be held Feb. 25, from 6-8 p.m. This will be a festive evening with live music and refreshments. Community leaders and educators are invited. The exhibit is located at 41 NE First Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33446
Do you have a photo, newspaper clipping, oral history, piece of art, clothing or any other artifact documenting Black History? If so, share your story! Replications and enlargements of original items can be made with the utmost of care. No story is too big or small in the mosaic of historical impact.
