WorkForce One Employment Solutions youth programs

    Submitted by Thomas Pennavaria

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — WorkForce One Employment Solutions, in collaboration with RES Business Education and Training Corporation, The Urban League, and Mt. Olive Development Corporation, provides Work Readiness Training, Career Planning, and Assistance with Basic Skills Remediation, Entrepreneurship, Leadership Training, Financial Literacy Training and Job Placement to young adults ages 16-21, who are out of school and out of work.

These programs are enrolling now and can provide transportation assistance to those who are eligible. Financial incentives are also given to those who attend. Mason C. Jackson, president and CEO of WorkForce One Employment Solutions elaborates on the need of these programs in the community “We hear from employers all the time that job seekers today are lacking the soft skills it takes to be a good candidate to fill their positions. These programs teach the basics that everyone needs to learn before applying for a job such as how to be team member, follow directions, basic computer skills, and how to fill out an application and interview techniques. Through the years, I have found that employers are willing to hire young adults for attitude and train them for success.

These programs are essential in our community by instructing our young adults to enter the workforce with these skills.”

    Background

These programs have been operating in Broward County for many years and draw from vast experience working with young adults. Relationships with local employers often provide paid work experience opportunities for many of the participants of the programs. As a result of enrolling in a program, several graduates have pursued their college education or secured full-time employment.
