‘Step Up to the Polls’ for early voting on November 3

     Several community organizations have united to plan “Step Up to the Polls” which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Step Up to the Polls will be held on the last day of early voting in Broward County. 

    This walking event will start from Avenue of the Arts Executive Suites, 405 N. Avenue of the Arts (Northwest Seventh Avenue) to the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) where the early voting will take place. 

    Registration for the walk will start at 6:45 a.m. at Avenue Executive. Pre-registration is encouraged by e-mailing all contact information to reservations@avenueexcutive.com. Come out and let your vote count and help us to make a difference in our community.   

    There will be water stations along the walk path to the early voting site. After the walk, participants will enjoy food, prizes and entertainment inside of Delevoe Park (immediately adjacent to the AARLCC).               

    This is an event for the entire family. Kids, voting ballots will also be available for children of all ages who are able to read. National and local leaders will be present to share their views regarding the importance of voting.

    Route: Leaving Avenue of the Arts located at 405 N. Avenue of the Arts (Northwest Seventh Avenue). Go through Mount Hermon AME Church parking lot to Seventh Terrace; Seventh Terrace to Sistrunk Boulevard. Then head West on Sistrunk Boulevard to the AARLCC, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, at the intersection of Northwest 27 Avenue and Sis-trunk.
